While he’s a relative newcomer, but there’s been something special about his sound since he first dropped in 2004. Flying out the gate with tunes produced alongside Noisia and Milo helped solidify his turn to Drum & Bass, which seems to blend his early love for Rock and Metal with his appreciation for electronic acts like Aphex Twin, The Prodigy and Orbital. With trips to Holland to work with the Noisia crew further fanning the flames of his DnB fire, it was the Renegade Hardware signings of “Crater” (with Nocturnal) and his remix of Chase & Status’ “Barbarians” for their Ten Tonne EP that got the ear of DJ Hype buzzin’, which in turn lead to the founding of Ganja-Tek, an imprint that focused on the breakneck-speed of Prolix’s neuro output (to date, Prolix has been featured on 8 out of the 12 releases on Ganja-Tek). With the first release (”Exile” b/w “Chokehold”), the big dogs came barking: both tunes became staples for DJ Bailey and Mary Anne Hobbs, among many others, and Prolix’s stock has continued to rise.

Bringing things full circle, the latest release on Ganja-Tek (GTEK012) shows Prolix digging deeper into the intergalactic funk with “Hall Of Mirrors”, a track that he created with BCUK members Maldini and Vegas. This tune, along with the “Hold Back”, take you back to the BC sounds that converted so many heads to the neuro way of thinking a decade or so ago. On the remix tip, his reworking of “Dragon Scroll” for Dangerous New Age, and he’s already completed remixes for heavy hitters like Ed Rush & Optical and Cause 4 Concern in the form of “Get Ill” and “Paranormal”, respectively. Add to the fact that he has been in the studio with the likes of Dom, Vicious Circle and Audio, and you can only imagine what kind of sounds he’s got cultivating in his garden. One thing is for certain: the man is going places, and it’d be a pity for you to love your neurofunk and sleep on his work.

Hailing from a small town in Belgium, Netsky is one of the most promising upcoming producers of the moment. In the last 4 years involved in music production, he realised that he likes his drum & bass deep and soulful.
